The composition is delightful, as is the models pose. Her tilted head seems to lean in towards the viewer making the portrait adopt a very intimate tone. The tones selected are beautiful - soft and muted - all very natural and convey honesty and truth. The model's eyes are transfixing and her beauty is disarming and breathtaking. She also wears very little make up which add to the natural beauty of the image and concept behind the image. Overall, an emotive and heartstoppingly beautiful portrait. I have marked it 3.5 for vision as a self-portrait is not a new subject; 3 for originality; 5 for technique as I think the photographer/artist has finely honed her technique for self-portraiture and capturing something deeper than mere aesthetics and her editing/post-processing technique is sublime. I marked 5 for impact as this is one portrait that could haunt you. Her eyes follow you around the room and seem to besiege your heart and soul. A piece of art to be proud of!

My first time critiquing a portrait ...

This one is a positive challenge and I risk telling in a non WOW way my opinion.

I like portraits with emphasis in the face expression and most of all on the eye look.
I like that the face fills the photo.
I like the angle - it has the retro look of the 40s (1940/1950 decade).
I like the colour of the skin (excellent editing) maintaining the pure white of the (?) blouse though.

The photographed model is quite beautiful and transmits a serene but mysterious state of mind.

The eyes expression reveals that the relation with the camera was professional but with no "fears".

I would like a more precise focusing of the eyes but I cannot "judge" that with a low resolution image

... my "verdict" is ... VERY GOOD !

Cropping / hair makes your forehead look massive. Wide-angle lens warped your face a bit too. Digging the tones though.
